The story began in 1977 when Frank McAtarian, an Irish immigrant, established a distribution company for environmental products in Rutherford, New Jersey. After a customer requested a convenient vacuum-packed format for transporting and storing spill control products, Frank saw an opportunity to move beyond distribution and developed the Andax Pac™. That customer-driven became the foundation for how Andax develops new products.

In 1991, a partnership between Andax and an electric utility led to the development of the original Transformer Sac™ for containing polemount transformers during change outs.

Andax Utility Products carries this legacy forward by providing quality products and prioritizing domestic material sourcing and U.S -based manufacturing. By bringing our utility products, training, and resources together under one clear focus, we can continue helping crews work safer, stay compliant respond with confidence, and in our own small way, do our part to help those crews make it home safely at the end of the day.
